Steam Learning System teaches steam systems used to provide process heat, building heat, and power generation for a wide variety of industries. Students learn industry-relevant skills including how to operate, install, adjust, maintain, analyze performance, and troubleshoot steam systems and components used in these applications.
VIBRATION ANALYSIS LEARNING SYSTEM
Vibration Analysis Learning System teaches how to use vibration analysis to determine when to perform maintenance of power transmission components. Students will learn industry-relevant skills including how to use a vibration meter to take a vibration measurement, how and where to take to measurements on various types of power transmission systems, how to analyze the results, and how to minimize vibration.
Vibration analysis is one of the key techniques used in the field of predictive maintenance to determine when to service one or more of a machine’s components, either making a replacement or adjustment, before a failure actually occurs. In vibration analysis, the frequency of machine vibrations are monitored over time and analyzed. By analyzing the trends, maintenance and plant engineering can determine if a machine has misaligned shafts, worn bearings, or unbalanced rotating elements.
PLASTICS TECHNOLOGY LEARNING SYSTEM
Plastics Technology Learning System is designed to teach modern technical skills in plastics and polymer science using injection molding. Plastics are found in almost any industry in an astounding array of applications, including clothing, housing, autos, aircraft, packaging, energy, electronics, biomedical devices, and many more. They impact virtually every aspect of modern industry. Understanding how to work with plastics is an important technical skill for engineers, technicians, and operators.
